What shelving does Space-Trac fit?
Space-Trac retrofit carriages fit common steel rivet/boltless shelving and common wire shelving sizes. Measure your uprights and shelf footprints before ordering — we help confirm fit from your dimensions.
What upright sizes does the Home Product Division Boot kit fit?
The Boot kit retrofits steel rivet shelving with upright angles from 1 inch to 1 5/8 inches. It adds about 2¼ inches of height and is rated up to 550 lbs per unit including the shelving.
Rivet vs wire — which carriage do I need?
Choose the rivet retrofit carriage for steel rivet/boltless and wide-span units (heavy-duty parts rooms and warehouses). Choose the wire retrofit carriage for common wire shelving used in medical, food service, and cold storage.
What are the load ratings?
Commercial rivet retrofit carriages are described on the site as 1250 lb-rated. The published rivet tech sheet filename references a 950 lb carriage rating — ask Dave which rating applies to your configuration. The Home Product Division Boot kit is up to 550 lbs per unit including shelving.
Do I have to buy all-new mobile shelving?
No. Space-Trac is a retrofit: keep the shelving you already own, add our carriages and aluminum guidance track, and choose side-by-side, pull-out, or lateral motion for your room.
How much more capacity can I gain?
Up to about 75% more storage capacity in the same footprint, depending on room layout and design (side-by-side, pull-out, or lateral).
Is the track hard to install?
Guidance track is extruded 6061-T6 aluminum, factory cut and pre-drilled. Tapcon anchors are supplied; Home Product Division kits can also use optional adhesive tape where appropriate.
